Canonsburg Woman Injured in Crash After Falling Asleep at Wheel

A Canonsburg woman suffered unknown injuries last week after Peters Township police said she fell asleep behind the wheel and drove into a pole.

Police said Sarita Taub, of 208 W. College St. was driving on Oak Wood just north of E. McMurray Road at 2:19 p.m. July 2 when she fell asleep and hit the pole head on.

"Significant" damage to the vehicle was reported, according to police.

Taub was transported to St. Clair Hospital for treatment of injuries.

No further information was immediately available about her condition.

Police said no charges would be filed.
