Crash Closes McLaughlin Run Road

McLaughlin Run Road, between Morrow Road and Route 19, is closed as crews clean up the accident.

A truck crossed the center line and struck an Upper St. Clair Public Works front-end loader on McLaughlin Run Road Friday afternoon, according to Matthew Serakowski, township manager.

McLaughlin Run Road is closed between Morrow Road and Route 19 as crews clean up the accident. Upper St. Clair Fire Chief Steve Moore said he expects the closure to affect rush hour traffic.

Serakowski said neither driver was seriously hurt. The public works employee who was driving the front-end loader was taken to  by an ambulance. The driver of the T.A. Robinson Asphalt Paving truck was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle.

The accident happened in front of the township tennis courts around 2 p.m. Diesel fuel leaked from the paving truck onto the roadway. Public works employees placed hay bales in a  as a precautionary measure.
