Drive-Thru Defendant’s Preliminary Hearing is Put on Hold

The preliminary hearing of the man alleged to have run his truck into an auto dealership on Route 19 was rescheduled for Dec. 13.

Robert Snatchko was scheduled for a preliminary hearing before James Ellis on Tuesday afternoon. Snatchko’s attorney requested a continuation which was approved by the district attorney and granted by the magistrate.

The preliminary hearing was rescheduled for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, before Ellis.

Snatchko, 53, of Oakdale, is charged with recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief and property damage, and terroristic threats with the intent to terrorize another.

After the incident, Snatchko was taken to St. Clair Hospital for injuries. Police reported that they were unsure as to how Snatchko incurred his injuries and that they needed to further investigate the matter.

Snatchko’s attorney, Gregory Suher, of Suher Law Office, P.C., told us that he requested the continuation of the preliminary hearing because “there are discussions going on that made it necessary for a continuation.

“The way this (incident) was originally portrayed is not the way that it occurred,” Suher continued. “We’re going to establish that and move forward.”

In his exclusive comments to Patch, Suher emphasized that the nature and severity of Snatchko’s injuries were not publicized, for reasons he could neither explain nor understand.

“For some reason, the only thing publicized about (Snatchko’s) injuries is that he had to go to St. Clair Hospital. There’s nothing anywhere that says why he had to go in for observation,” Suher explained.

“The reality is (that Snathcko had to go to the hospital) because he got beat up.”

“The sad part about this is that you have a guy who buys a brand-new truck that he pays a lot of money for, he wants to address issues that he has with it, and he ends up getting beat up and arrested,” said Suher.

Suher declined to comment as to who is alleged to have beaten Snatchko.
