UPDATE: Man's Body Found in Canonsburg Lake

After 12 hours of searching, police identified the body of Joseph Schneider.

Rescue teams concluded their Saturday morning. Peters police identified the body of Joseph Schneider, 21, just before noon. 

The Houston man went missing Friday night after partying with friends at the house next door to . He and three friends jumped into Canonsburg Lake and attemped to swim across. 

His body was found 20-30 yards offshore, according to Peters police Capt. Michael Yanchak. 

 Chief Harry Fruecht said two men crossed, one man turned around and got out. Schneider also turned around, he said, but was not seen after that.

East Bethlehem Township Scuba Rescue, as well as the Scottdale VFD Dive Team, assisted in the overnight search.

His cause of death is pending an autopsy, as stated in the latest report from Washington County Coroner Tim Warco.

It wasn't the Mon Valley dive team with East Beth Fire Rescue, it was the Scottdale Fire Dept dive team out of Fayette County.

Im sorry that would be Scottdale VFD out of Westmoreland County not Fayette

Hi Mark - I originally wrote the Scottdale Dive Team, however I was then notified by the coroner it was the Mon Valley Dive Team. I believe you're correct, according to police Capt. Yanchak. I will edit. Thanks!
