Nearby: Claysville Teen Killed in Rollover Crash

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said four others in the car were flown to area hospitals for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said a 16-year-old Claysville girl was killed in a one vehicle crash early Wednesday morning, and four others were flown to area hospitals.

Warco pronounced Sierra Minor, 16, of Pleasant Grove Road, dead at the scene of the crash on Brush Run Road in Independence Township.

Among those injured are two 15-year-old girls, a 21-year-old Washington man and another Washington man who state police did not have an age for. State police said their injuries were "critical."

Seat belts, police said, were not in use.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash, according to police.

The crash, he said, happened about a mile from the Pennsylvania-West Virginia state line.

He said she died from trauma suffered in the crash and ruled her death an accident.

"The victim was the operator of an Oldsmobile sedan traveling east on Brush
Run Road. After coming through a left bend in the roadway, the vehicle went off the eastbound lane, struck a tree, and rolled over an embankment," Warco wrote in a release. "Four other occupants of the  vehicle were transported to area hospitals."

Warco was assisted at the scene by the Avella and West Middletown fire departments.
