Nearby: Coroner Releases Name of Man Killed After Alleged South Strabane Robbery

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco on Sunday afternoon released the name of the man fatally shot after he reportedly tried to subdue a man who allegedly robbed the Giant Eagle in South Strabane Township earlier in the afternoon.

The shooting victim was identified as Vincent M. Kelley, 46, of Church Street in the City of Washington.

According to the coroner's report, Kelley died from multiple gunshot wounds after being taken to The Washington Hospital after the incident around 2:30 p.m.

His death has been ruled a homicide.

"According to details available, the victim followed a person outside who had robbed the Citizen’s Bank located in the Giant Eagle Store in Strabane Square," Warco said in a statement. "The victim attempted to subdue the actor inside the actor’s vehicle and was shot several times before being left in the parking lot."

No further information was immediately available Sunday night.
