North Strabane Woman Jailed After Alleged Retail Theft in Peters

A North Strabane Township woman was jailed Friday after Peters Township police charged her with a felony count of retail theft.

Police said Kathleen S. Joy, 63, of Foxchase Drive, stole $48.95 worth of merchandise from the TJ Maxx store in Donaldson Crossroad shopping Center in McMurray Thursday.

Joy was arraigned by district Judge Larry Hopkins, who remanded her to the Washington County Jail after she was unable to post a $10,00 straight bond.

She is scheduled to appear before district Judge James Ellis on July 9 for a preliminary hearing.
