Overnight Fire in Pella Plaza Under Investigation

The fire was contained to Kopy Kats Consignment Boutique within 15 minutes, according to the Peters Township Fire Department's deputy chief.

No injuries were reported following an overnight fire in .

A smoke alarm at 3150 Washington Road triggered the call to at 1:28 a.m. Monday.

Chief Noel "Mac" McMullen said fire crews arrived to see a working fire and called for backup from the North Strabane Fire Department and the rapid intervention team.

The fire was contained to within 15 minutes, he said. 

"In turn, racks and racks of clothing and dresses were burned," he said. The fire did not spread to the other businesses in the building, however the crews performed a ventilation procedure due to heavy smoke.

The cause for the fire is under investigation, McMullen said.

He said he expects surrounding businesses to reopen today.
