Peters Man Buys Theft Victim New Teeth

Dana Divecchio heard about the 'Tooth Fairy Bandit,' who stole a Bridgeville woman's dentures, and offered to write a check.

The thief who ransacked nearly 20 vehicles in Bridgeville over the past week took a real bite out of crime when he stole a woman’s dentures from her parked car.

Kathy Saunoras told  the thief took her dentures from her car parked on Laurel Street, leaving her with no cheap options to replace them. Saunoras, who discussed the strange theft in the comments section of , could not be reached for an interview.

But when Dana Divecchio of Peters Township heard of her plight on the evening news, he decided to help her by offering to pay for a new set of dentures.

“It’s a tough story and just thought I would pay it forward,” Divecchio said.

He spoke to Saunoras over the phone Thursday morning and said he would send a check to her dentist once she learned of the cost.

“She was very surprised, very grateful,” Divecchio said.

He said it felt good to help someone in need. Still, he couldn’t get over the strange crime by the so-called Tooth Fairy Bandit.

“That’s what was freaking me out,” Divecchio said. “It was just so bizarre.”
