Peters Police Charge Strabane Man With Robbery, Retail Theft

A Strabane man is in Washington County Jail after Peters Township police charged him with robbery and retail theft on Wednesday.

Police said that the charges against Brian Fodor, 45, of 104 Alexander Dr., stem from an incident at Miller's Hardware June 1.

Store employees told police that two white males had stolen a Sears Craftsman tool set valued at $249.98.

The employees said that the two males fled in a dark green minivan after being confronted.

When the driver, later identified as Fodor, went to back out, police said he almost struck one of the employees and the other had to jump out of the way in order to avoid be hit.

Officers were later able to identify Fodor through information provided by Cecil Township police.

A warrant was issued for Fodor's arrest Wednesday, and he was apprehended by North Strabane police, according to the Peters Township chief.

Fodor was arraigned before district Judge James Ellis Wednesday and remanded to the Washington County Jail after being unable to post a $100,000 straight bond.

He is scheduled to appear before Ellis for a preliminary hearing at 1:45 p.m. June 18.
