Peters Police Jail Two Women for Retail Theft, Conspiracy

Peters Township police charged two Pittsburgh women with retail theft and other offenses stemming from an incident at T.J. Maxx Saturday.

Online court records show police charged Jennifer Jeter-Garland, 21, of 235 Zara St., with one count each of retail theft, conspiracy, and more.

The second woman, Donicia Shaw, 26, of 525 Mountain St., was charged with one count each of retail theft, conspiracy, and more.

The criminal complaint indicates that police were summoned by the store's loss prevention officer in regard to the two women, which she said saw the two leave the store allegedly without paying for merchandise.

When searched, Shaw had four purses valued at $579.96. Jeter-Gardner reportedly had a purse and six bras that were valued at $152.93.

The women reportedly attempted to deactivate the security tags.

Both Jeter-Garland and Shaw were arraigned before district Justice Curtis Thompson, who remanded them to the Washington County Jail after they were each unable to post a $10,000 percentage bond.

Online court records indicate that both women are scheduled for appear before Thompson for a preliminary hearing on June 11.
