Peters Township Fire Department Seeking New Deputy Chief

A job posting will soon appear for full and part-time firefighters, Peters Township officials said Monday.

The Peters Township Fire Department is looking to fill a vacant position following the resignation of its deputy chief earlier this month.

Fire Chief Dan Coyle said Noel McMullen left the department July 19 to take a position in the oil and gas industry.

Coyle said the department is trying to fill the vacancy internally—and that there are currently six applicants for the position.

But the promotion of a new deputy fire chief will mean another vacancy, and township officials said a list of qualified candidates will soon be sought to fill it.

Township officials said that an advertisement for full and part-time firefighters will soon be posted.

When it is, interested candidates can apply by picking up an application at the municipal building.
