Police Report, Drug Take-Back Initiative Begins

An update from the Peters Township Police Department.

March 11, 11:53 p.m.; Charges were filed against Ashley Marie Bonifield, 20, of 103 West O'Hara Street in McDonald, for simple possession of marijuana. Bonifield was stopped for a traffic violation, when police smelled marijuana coming from her vehicle. She handed over the drugs to the police. 

Update: The is now collecting unwanted prescription drugs as part of a drug take-back initiative. The official collection date is April 30, where there will be three drop-off locations: the , and in Donaldson's Crossroads.

The department is accepting pills, liquids and over-the-counter drugs, including salves. The department asks for no sharp objects. Police chief Harry Fruecht is welcoming anyone to stop by the police station between now and April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
