Weekend Police Report: Armed Robbery and Park Vandalism

March 20, 2:09 a.m., An armed robbery occurred at the Applebee's on Route 19 (). A bartender and female manager closing the restaurant were approached outside the restaurant by a lone gunman. After refusing to let him inside, the gunman grabbed the woman's purse, hopped the rail and crossed an embankment over Route 19, Chief Fruecht said. 

Police responded and pursued his path on foot, when they heard the sound of glass breaking at the nearby restaurant, . Police noticed a car leaving the restaurant—one officer responded to the restaurant, the other two officers responded to the departing car.

A safe from Table was stolen and remained in the car of the suspect. The North Strabane police took necessary measures. Peters police are still investigating. 

March 19, 6:05 p.m., Spray paint vandalism was reported at . Inappropriate words and pictures were observed. Police are investigating.
