Upper St. Clair commissioners approved the transfer of a liquor license to on Boyce Road.
The vote was 7-0 on Monday night. Rodney Ardolino, owner of the Italian eatery, plans on selling beer and possibly some liquor.
Customers will be able to purchase alcohol while eating in the restaurant. Six-packs will also be available for purchase. No alcohol will be delivered.
Ardolino must receive final approval from the Liquor Control Board, which may take an estimated six to eight weeks.
Ardolino is also asking the township permission to build a new restaurant behind the current Ardolino's Pizza building. The public hearing on the matter will continue at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 2 at the .
The restaurant would be 1,600 square feet, and have indoor and outdoor seating. An additional entrance on Maple Lane and a parking lot would be added.
The pizza shop would continue operating in its current building until the new building was completely finished. Ardolino hopes to lease the current building out to a complimentary business in the future.
