Banksville Road Improvements Begin Next Monday

If you're traveling to town, there will be overnight and weekend traffic restrictions.

You may live in , but is Banksville Road part of your regular commute? 

A $4.7 million project to improve Banksville Road (Route 19) in the City of Pittsburgh, Dormont and Mt. Lebanon will begin weather permitting on Monday, June 4.

The project includes milling and resurfacing, culvert improvements, drainage, guiderail, curbing and traffic signal and signage upgrades on 2.4 miles of Banksville Road from the Parkway West (I-376) to McFarland Road. Overall work will conclude in December, according to .

Overnight and weekend traffic restrictions will occur according to the following schedule:

Weeknights Monday through Thursdays:

  • Single lane traffic in each direction from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Weekends Friday nights through Monday mornings (as needed):

  • Single lane traffic in each direction from 8 p.m. Fridays through 6 a.m. Mondays

Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays and changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area.

The prime contractor is the Lane Construction Company of Pittsburgh, PA.
