UPDATED: Costanzo and Lucas Secure Both GOP, Democratic Nominations for Judge

The two will be the only candidates on the ballot in November—with a pair of seats open.

Unofficial election results show that Valarie Costanzo and Mike Lucas secured both the Democratic and Republican nominations in the race for Washington County Common Pleas judge.

Costanzo, a district judge in Cecil, is leading on the Republican side with 20.9 percent of the votes cast—or 3,333 votes. Lucas has the second-highest number of Republican votes with 3,209, or 20.2 percent.

On the Democrat side, Lucas won by a slim margin.

Unofficial results show he recieved with 25.8 percent of the votes cast—or 7,847 votes. Costanzo received the second-most votes with 7,803 votes.

Also on the Democrat side, Alan Benyak received 3,962 votes, Blane Black received 3,409 votes, Charles Kurowski recieved 2,777 votes, Lane Turturice received 2,058 votes, Peter Marcoline III received 1,570 votes and Thomas Fallert received 895 votes.

On the Republican side, Turturice received 2,623 votes, Benyak received 2,054 votes, Black received 1,650, Fallert received 1,070 votes, Kurowski received 1,003 votes and Marcoline received 940.

Costanzo and Lucas will be the only to candidates on the ballot in November's general election. There are two seats open.
