More Complaints Prompt Traffic-Calming Study in Peters

New traffic counts show the majority of traffic is speeding in the area.

Peters Township Council approved a traffic-calming study Monday night for the Center Church and Johnston roads area, according to township Manager Michael Silvestri.

Neighbors have been complaining about speeding vehicles near their homes for years, but council wanted to wait to see if the recent road improvement project would help. Since the project was completed late last year, township officials have continued to receive complaints.

Silvestri said new traffic counts show that the majority of vehicles are driving at more than 45 mph in the 25 mph area.

Silvestri thinks the study will be completed in late summer.
