Peters Township 10-Year Plan Reaches Council

Public comment on the plan is being accepted at Monday's meeting.

A 10-year comprehensive plan for Peters Township will be officially presented to the township council on Monday night.

The strategy known as "Plan Peters 2022: Our Community, Our Future"—available here—"is a blueprint for the future," according to the document, and "a policy guide for land use and related community development decisions."

The prime consultant for the plan is LSL Planning, Inc., of Michigan; though, LSL sought and received input from township officials as well as the public throughout the plan's development.

Nevertheless, more public comment is invited at Monday's council meeting, to be held at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers of the Peters Municipal Building.

Guiding principles of the plan have included "the development of unique activity centers that include a mix of uses and activities located close together, providing people with new options for places to live, work, shop, and participate in civic life," "provid(ing) a greater range of housing choices to enable a diversity of people at all stages of life to enjoy Peters Township, including young adults, families, empty nesters, retirees, seniors, and people of different income levels" and much more.
