Peters Township Council Sets Public Hearing Date Regarding Comprehensive Plan

Peters Township Council this week set the public hearing date to showcase the finalized comprehensive plan.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16 in the municipal building.

Township Manager Michael Silvestri said that prior to that hearing, which is required to take place by state law, council will likely set open house meeting dates so that residents may view the plan and be prepared to make remarks or recommendations.

Called "Plan Peters 2022: Our Community, Our Future," will update the plan approved back in 2001.

The Comprehensive Plan takes the following into account:

  • Housing characteristics: housing types, mix and values
  • Land use characteristics: percent of land use by category and development character
  • Economic characteristics: employment figures and market opportunities
  • What other communities are doing to remain resilient, desirable and relevant
