Peters Township Receives, Earmarks Local Impact Fee Money

Peters Township received its share of local impact fee money distributed by the state's Public Utilities Commission—a fee that is associated with Marcellus Shale gas drilling.

Township Manager Michael Silvestri said the township received $277,000 for 2013.

Council made the decision to use that money for its roads program.

The money will be used to offset the cost of a recent contract awarded to El Grande to repair myriad township roads.

The cost of that work is about $815,000, he said.
