Sulc Announces Bid for County Commissioner

The North Strabane Township resident and supervisors chairman held kick-off event Monday.

Greg Sulc said he’s always believed Washington County is a great place to live, work and raise a family – and said he would work to make sure it is marketed that way if elected commissioner.

The North Strabane resident and township board chairman announced his candidacy as a county commissioner during an event at The Spring House in Eighty-Four on Monday.

Sulc, 42, was flanked by his wife Melissa and their children, Emily and Liam, and will run as a Democrat.

“I know with my experiences and values I will uphold the dignity of the Washington County Commissioner’s Office to better serve the people of Washington County,” he said during his speech. “I will work closely with the other commissioners to ensure Washington County continues to attract new businesses and growth while not forgetting the existing businesses and residents.”

Sulc has been a North Strabane supervisor for the past eight years, and previously served on the township’s planning commission.

He said he has also served on various advisory boards for the Canon-McMillan School District and has held several positions within Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, where he is a member.

A graduate of Canon-McMillan School District, Sulc holds a degree in business administration from Penn State University, and currently serves as aquatics director of the Mon Valley YMCA West Partnership.

“We have a lot to offer, and together we can spread the good news of Washington County,” he said.
