Living with Heart Failure in 2012: Knowing Your Treatment Options

George Sokos, DO, heart failure specialist and Stephen Bailey, MD, cardiac surgeon will offer a free program on living with heart failure and knowing the treatment options on in the community room at the Outpatient Care Center.

The incidence of congestive heart failure continues to increase, with more than 550,000 new cases a year diagnosed in the United States. The Cardiovascular Institute’s multidisciplinary heart failure management team has contributed to success rates that exceed national averages. The team partners with referring physicians to provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment options, ranging from medical therapy to heart transplantation to ventricular assist devices (VAD).

Dr. Sokos is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine – Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. Dr. Bailey is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
