Local Teachers Performing Concert to Support Anti-Bullying Message

The Peters Township Public Library will welcome local band NTLB—or No Tune Left Behind—at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for a special one-hour concert to support the movement to stop bullying.

The band will be joined by officers from the Peters Township Police Department,
with Chief Harry Fruecht kicking off the event by reading an anti-bullying pledge.

Those attending can take the pledge to stop bullying and sign a large banner with the same message. The evening will continue with a performance by NTLB while their videos play on a large screen in the main lobby.

NTLB is a rock band composed of four practicing professional musicians and educators from the Peters Township School District.

They teach at McMurray Elementary, and have written and produced songs, music videos, live shows, 30-minute video musicals and curriculum materials to help combat bullying and relational aggression in their school.

They presented and performed at the 2008 Character Education Partnership
National Forum in Washington, D.C. They have also been invited to perform and present at the National Conference on Girl Bullying.

Ray Cygrymus, NTLB's lead guitarist and singer, is a music teacher with 17 years of experience. He is known throughout the Pittsburgh region as a professional musical theater leading man, and has fronted several successful rock bands.

David Difilippo is a Carnegie Mellon University trained musician, composer, educator and conductor. He has taught music in Peters Township for eight years. He wrote the script and all original music for "Fall-O' the Queen" and "The True Reality of Virtual Lies." He plays keyboard, bass and sings with NTLB.

John Lovett is a fourth-grade teacher from McMurray Elementary with 11 years of experience. He is a singer and guitarist who attended California University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a dual degree in elementary and early childhood education.

Stephen McGough teaches music at McMurray Elementary, and has worked with high school and elementary students for more than a decade. He is a professional trumpeter who received his Master's of music and education certification from Carnegie Mellon University. He plays drums and sings with NTLB.
