Peters Students Celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday

Some very special readers visited Bower Hill Elementary.

Students at Bower Hill celebrated Read Across America Day and the birthday of Dr. Seuss with a visit from some very special readers—National Honor Society students from Peters Township High School.

The NHS students read a selection of books supporting Bower Hill’s Character Counts themes and the school wide 2013 theme of “Express Yourself.”

Following their reading sessions, the high school students gathered back in the library and made a visit to the Bower Hill reading nook where many of them spent time during their elementary years.

Bower Hill librarian Mrs. Myra Oleynik quoted Dr. Seuss and said "You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child," as she picked up The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds and read it to the high schoolers to cap off their visit.
