Peters Township Students Named National Merit Commended Students

Eight students earned the honor.

Eight students from Peters Township High School have been named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in the annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These students are: Joshua Bowman; Matthew Girouard; Paige Hannah; Brandon Lo; Cameron Maxwell; Emily Peterson; Melanie Roberts; and Karan Sharma.

The students are among 34,000 of the highest scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT and will receive a letters of commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise.

Although commended students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, some of these students do become candidates for special scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.
