PV Idol Raises More Than $10,500 for American Cancer Society

The annual talent show in Peters Township was a hit.

Pleasant Valley Elementary raised more than $10,500 for the American Cancer Society during its annual talent show—PV Idol.

Students and school staff members sang, danced, played the piano, told jokes and even showed off their basketball and pogo stick skills—all for the wonderful cause.

Organized by a team of staff members led by teachers Sandy McWilliams and Barb Viola, student acts were voted on by cash donations placed in boxes created by students for their act. In addition, donations to the Washington County Food Bank were also accepted and this year resulted in more than 800 pounds of food.
