Rotary Christmas Caroling a Success

McMurray Rotary members and Peters Township High School students delighted residents in holiday song to support the Interact Club.

McMurray Rotarians and students sang Christmas carols door-to-door earlier this month, collecting a total of $1,430 (not including money collected via snail mail).

Thirty-five students volunteered and covered seven neighborhoods in Peters.

"I want to thank everybody—rotarians, spouses, relatives, teachers and students for coming on a Sunday afternoon (and with a Steelers game on) to help with the Christmas Caroling event," past president Tony Zuloaga said in an email. "It was a beautiful day and it looked as if everyone was having fun as Dave Kramer and I went from neighborhood to neighborhood to take pictures and videos.

"The expenses were about $900, which would leave an estimated $700 in net proceeds." Ten percent of the net proceeds will go to the Interact Club.

The McMurray Rotary Club is already looking forward to next year and ways to improve the event.
