Soccer: Indians Triumph Over Colts, 2-0

Peters Township Varsity Soccer hosted the Chartiers Valley Colts Thursday night.

Peters Township Varsity Soccer defeated the Chartiers Valley Colts 2-0 Thursday night at the Indians stadium.

Peters played a very crisp passing game, which created scoring opportunities in first half.

Shortly after the game began, senior Captain Matt Venanzi (18) scored the first goal with an assist made by senior R.J. McGinnis (2).

The Colts tried to push past the Indians, but could not get through.

After the half, PT kept fighting and protecting their goal with their strong defensive plays. The Colts played with determination to score, but were thrown back several times by the mighty Indians. Mid-second half, senior Jake Harriger (19) scored with 17 minutes left, removing any doubt for the outcome of the game.

Peters Township stands 5-1 overall, and 2-0 in section play. The next game is at Trinity on Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
