Student Art on Display at The Galleria

The Galleria of Mt. Lebanon will be filled with artwork Saturday afternoon as students from 15 area high schools—including —compete to have their piece displayed in the U.S. Capitol.

The annual Congressional Art Competition Exhibit organized by U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy will be open to the public from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday near The Galleria’s Starbucks on the first floor.

A panel of judges will review the more than 30 works of art submitted by area high school students from around the 18th Congressional District, and a winner will be selected after the show. The winning artwork will be on display in the U.S. Capitol for the entire year.

Visitors also can offer their own votes for their favorite artwork to win the People’s Choice Award. That piece will be hung in Murphy’s Washington D.C. office.

• Trinity High School will have two pieces entered in the exhibit
