Students at Pleasant Valley Elementary have turned trash into treasure with their recycled art creations show.

In conjunction with Earth Week, the students were encouraged to turn household items or natural objects into art that was displayed in the school library.

The art display is part of the elementary school's ongoing effort to encourage recycling in school and at home by the students and staff.

Each classroom in the building was given the opportunity to vote for their favorite work of art and the winner was second-grader Brent Allen, who created a volcano.

Brent and all of the student artists were recognized on PV-TV, the building’s morning news broadcast. The event was organized by Parent Teacher Association sponsor Maria Smith and librarian Nancy Barley.
