Lessons on guitar, bass, drums and percussion are offered—as well as voice, piano and a selection of brass and woodwind instruments.

Staff members boast qualifications such as: multiple masters’ degrees; performances in opera and musical theater; membership in indie bands and orchestral ensembles and sound engineering experience.

Last May, acclaimed percussionist Michael Berry came to U Rock from Denver, CO. As a session musician, he brought two Grammy-nominated albums, as well as more than 20 years of percussion teaching experience to the business.

U Rock sells equipment and offers rentals for band instruments, including full drum sets. The instructors strongly encourage potential students to rent an unfamiliar instrument before purchasing.

In a previous interview, Nemeth said, “We’re always looking for ways to bring traditional music lessons into the 21st century, and this is a great way to do it.”

Each classroom at the U Rock studio has an HD webcam, and lessons are offered at a discounted price as compared to studio lessons.

Nemeth said his new location is a big and exciting change for the business.
