UPDATED: Middle School Threat 'Not Credible'

The building will stay open until 6 p.m. for students to retrieve their backpacks and belongings.

Following Friday morning's evacuation of the Peters Township Middle School, the township police department has cleared the building and the immediate safety concerns are over, school officials said.

"The threat that was found this morning has been determined to be not credible and we will conduct a thorough investigation," stated Dr. Bob Freado, middle school principal. "Pranks of this nature are taken very seriously."

Students were taken to McMurray Elementary School for the remainder of the day. The middle school building will stay open until 6 p.m. so students can retrieve their backpacks and belongings.

Any parent wishing to pick up their child may do so at McMurray Elementary. However, this has caused considerable traffic on campus. Parents are asked to refrain from visiting McMurray Elementary Friday unless it's absolutely necessary.
