90-Year-Old Peters Man Honored for Completing Whiskey Rebellion 5K—His First

A 90-year-old Peters Township man was honored this week for completing the Whiskey Rebellion 5K earlier this month.

The Canon-McMillan Cross Country team, which sponsored the Fourth of July event, presented Roger Murray, of Peters Township, with a medal and T-shirt for walking the 5K, which was his first race.

He completed the race in about an hour, organizers said.

Hundreds of runners participated in this year's race, held prior to the Fourth of July parade in Canonsburg.
