More Concerns Surrounding Sid's Health

A Los Angeles-based neurological spine specialist diagnosed Sidney Crosby with a neck injury in addition to a concussion.

The Pittsburgh Penguins released a statement Saturday night in response to published reports about the health of Sidney Crosby.

The Tribune-Review reported Saturday that Sidney Crosby is recovering from another concussion and may have two fractured vertebrae. 

Saturday evening, the Penguins released a statement stating that a Los Angeles-based neurological spine specialist whom Crosby had visited this week diagnosed Crosby with an neck injury and a concussion.

Officials reported Crosby's neck injury is fully healed, according to Dr. Robert S. Bray.

"Those findings will be evaluated by independent specialists over the next few days. The most important goal all along has been Sidney's return to full health, and we are encouraged that progress continues to be made."

There is still no word on when Crosby is expected to return to the ice.
