Penguins to Start Playoffs at Home

The team clinched home ice advantage and the No. 4 seed in the upcoming NHL Eastern Conference playoffs.

The Pittsburgh Penguins clinched home ice advantage and the No. 4 seed in the upcoming NHL Eastern Conference playoffs—they defeated the New York Rangers, 5-2, Thursday night.

On Saturday, the Penguins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers, 4-2, in the regular season finale at Consol Energy Center.

The Pens will host the No. 5 seed Flyers, a team they’ve traditionally had bad blood against. The first and second games will be hosted at Consol.
