Peters Falls to Rival Blue Devils at Mt. Lebanon 57-42

Indians trailed entire game as Mt. Lebanon pulled away in second half.

Conference rivals Mt. Lebanon and Peters Township have a history of close match-ups, and early in Friday’s game at Mt. Lebanon High School it was the same story.

The Blue Devils took an early 19-16 advantage after the first quarter. The Indians faced full-court pressure after each made basket and slipped further behind by 5 at halftime, 29-24.

Peters did its best to keep pace in the second half. Standout Dakota Norton led all scorers with 22 points. Mt. Lebanon however extended its lead by a dozen, 44-32 at the end of the third quarter.

The Blue Devils were led by Kamic Anyang who tossed in 15 points for the defending PIAA AAAA State runner-ups. In the end, Mt. Lebanon pulled away, 57-42, sending the Indians with another loss.

Peters falls to 6-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

The Indians host neighboring rival Canon-Mac Tuesday night.
