Peters Native One of Four Americans Still Winning at Wimbledon

Peters Township native Alison Riske is one of four players keeping American hopes alive at Wimbledon, according to the AP.

Riske reached the third round by beating 44th-ranked Urszula Radwanska of Poland, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

She'll take on Kaia Kanepi on Saturday, who eliminated No. 7 Angelique Kerber, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3.

Riske, who turns 23 on Wednesday, was 0-5 at major tournaments until this Wimbledon. She was offered a wild card into Wimbledon after she reached the Birmingham semifinals.

No. 1-seeded Serena Williams, 17th-seeded Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys are the other three Americans left in the tournament.
