Peters Township native Alison Riske is one of four players keeping American hopes alive at Wimbledon, according to the AP.
Riske reached the third round by beating 44th-ranked Urszula Radwanska of Poland, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.She'll take on Kaia Kanepi on Saturday, who eliminated No. 7 Angelique Kerber, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3.
Riske, who turns 23 on Wednesday, was 0-5 at major tournaments until this Wimbledon. She was offered a wild card into Wimbledon after she reached the Birmingham semifinals.
No. 1-seeded Serena Williams, 17th-seeded Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys are the other three Americans left in the tournament.
There are no American men still in action in the third round.
