Get Out: Heart Walk, Wine Fest & Campout

Other events include an NHL '11 Tournament at Peters Township Public Library and a blood drive at St. Benedict the Abbot.

Where?/When?South Park, 8:30 a.m. on Saturday

Why Go?: Pittsburgh's first Congenital Heart Walk will be held at South Park. All are welcome to attend. Registration will be held at the PA Parcell and Ethelbert shelters at 8:30 a.m. The race begins at 10 a.m. Tell your friends and family to get involved and help support the Adult Congenital Heart Association and the Children's Heart Foundation to continue to fight congenital heart disease. Where?/When?: , 12 to 6 p.m. on Saturday

Why Go?: The Trax Farms Wine Festival will feature six wineries, live music, great food and more! Sample wines from five local PA wineries in addition to Arrowhead Wines. Also enjoy live music from local songwriter Nancy Deckant and the Black Rock County Band.

Pricing: $10 pre-register; $15 day of.

Where?/When?: , 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday

Why Go?: Hockey is over for the summer, but you can continue the fun with the summer NHL '11 gaming tournament! All participants will be entered into a random bracket and play against an opponent. One full game per round, the winner continues on and the loser is out until only one winner is left. So get your game face ready because summer is a great time for hockey! Sign up at the Children's Reference Desk in advance.

Where?/When?: , 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday

Why Go: Be part of the Great American Backyard Campout with The Outdoor Classroom in the beautiful Boyce Mayview Park. They'll teach you how to set up a tent, build a campfire and even tell a few stories. Bring a blanket so you can do some early evening star gazing. Campfire treats will be provided! Space is limited and registration is required for this first ever event. Click here to go to the registration page. 

Pricing: $6 per person and a family pak of four is available for $20.

5. 

Where?/When?: , 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday

Why Go?: St. Benedict the Abbot and Boy Scout Troop 1313 will be sponsoring a blood drive in O’Brien Hall. Central Blood Bank will be accepting donations from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Please contact Blaise at 724-942-0748 or Kevin at 724-942-0388 to schedule your life-saving appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome.
