Golfers Wanted: Chamber Outing Registration Open

Fore! Listen up, local golfers.

The 23rd annual Chamber golf outing benefiting the . Have you registered? There are still some openings. 

Registration is open through Thursday, chamber Director Carol Foley said. 

The golf outing is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at  and costs $130 per golfer. 

"The funds that we’ve been able to get from our (annual) outing have enabled the fire department to buy numerous pieces of equipment and buy the children’s fire safety house," Foley said. "In essence, it's going back into the community. It's going to help save lives and fight fires."

Fire department President Greg Nardine said much of the money goes toward free home inspections and, this year, a new fire safety house. 

"The safety house is a wonderful tool for children to learn," Foley said. "We think it’s a very worthwhile cause. It’s better enabling (the firefighters) to do what they need to do."
