The rain that pervaded Washington County late last week held off for Community Day—making for what Peters Township Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brian Schill said was a "picture perfect" celebration.
Droves of local folks visited Saturday's event, visiting the food booths and saying hello to the other participating vendors—with everyone from the Peters Township Fire Department, to local businesses and nonprofits participating.
Schill said it only sprinkled for a few skinny minutes as organizers were closing up shop for the day.
The event culminated in a fireworks show later in the evening.
