Reminder: Sign Up for PT Summer Camps!

Registration is open for kids' basketball, volleyball, football and dance programs in . Here is a roundup of the summer fun and how to register.

Summer Basketball Program 2012:

Boys and girls entering grades 3 through 8 will meet on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons: July 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26 and Aug. 7 and 9.

*Girls will meet from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

*Boys will meet from 3 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Cost is $42 per player.

Boys and girls entering grades 1 through 2 will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 11 through Aug. 8.

Cost is $32 per player.

The program will be run by Keenan Holmes, a former college basketball player and Peters resident, and local college players and current players.

The goal of the program is to develop kids' basketball skills and basketball IQ in a fun environment using drill work and organized pick-up games. This program will benefit all levels, including beginners, recreational players or travel players.

This is a very affordable and flexible program, so if there are conflicts with vacations, etc., the staff still encourages you to sign your child up and attend whatever sessions they are able.

The staff asks that all players wear a red/white reversible jersey for ease of splitting up teams. If a jersey is needed, please order when registering. Jerseys available to order are red/white reversible mesh with "PT Basketball" on front and are $15 each.

Boys Volleyball 2012 Summer Camp:

Location: Peters Township High School

Date: July 23 – July 26

Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Cost: $75

The camp is for any boy entering grades 7-9.

Summer 2012 PT Youth Football Skills Camp:

Join Peters Township High School Varsity Coach Rich Piccinini and his staff. This camp is for youth ages 8 to 13.

It will be held Aug. 2-3 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Peters Township High School stadium. Cost is $75.

PTDT Summer Fun Dance Camp:

Where: Peters Township High School

When: 3-day camp—Tuesday, Aug. 7 - Thursday, Aug. 9

Sign in at 8:30 daily; dancing begins at 9 a.m.; pick-up is at noon.

A parent performance is scheduled for 12 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9.

Who: Girls and boys in kindergarten through grade 8.

Cost: $100 ($10 discount if you register two children from the same family.)

Your registration fee includes a T-shirt, plus a daily snack and drink. Checks can be made payable to PTHS Dance Boosters and no refunds will be made after July 31.

The day of camp, kids should bring a water bottle, wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.
