You're Suggesting That I Eat Only Plants. Are You Kidding Me?

Are you tired of trying every fad diet? Are you tired of being tired all the time? Are you living with a chronic condition? A lifestyle change may be in order.

Go to the diet section of your local bookstore and you will find a diet of your liking.

People love to hear good news about their bad habits. If you want to eat steak and eggs and fried foods three times a day and feel good about it, then I'm sure there is a diet book touting the benefits. Oh yeah, there already is. It's called Atkins.

But are you familiar with the science that forms the basis for the diet's recommendations? I think you would be surprised. Dr. Atkins also died grossly overweight and suffering from severe cardiovascular disease. Is this someone you want to emulate?

If you want to take control of your your weight once and for all, and if you want to stay healthy or reclaim your health, then the first thing you need to do is become discriminating as to the advice you are willing to take. Recommendations need to be backed by credible, scientifically valid research.

The most comprehensive nutrition research that has been completed to date indicates that a low-fat, plant-based diet will not only help you to reach your ideal weight naturally and maintain it, but also help you to prevent, and in many cases reverse, the chronic, degenerative diseases that plague our society.

What are some of the chronic, degenerative diseases that can be influenced by what you place on your fork for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Heart disease, obesity, type II diabetes, osteoporosis and cancer to name just a few.

Research has also identified additional connections between food and diseases such as type I diabetes, multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune conditions, digestive disorders, kidney stones and kidney disease, and gall stones and gall bladder disease.

Despite the enormous benefits that you are about to learn, does this lifestyle conjure up visions of collecting twigs and leaves from your backyard to prepare your meals? Do you envision a life of deprivation where you long each day for the taste of a Big Mac? I think you will be pleasantly surprised what these foods have to offer in taste, in variety, and in color. A plant-based lifestyle is easier to adopt than most people think. Stay tuned and let me show you how.

I can personally attest to this lifestyle. The results are nothing short of dramatic. I had been a vegetarian for 20 years when 3 years ago I adopted an entirely plant-based lifestyle. Since that time, I have lost 50 pounds, have kept it off and resolved an autoimmune condition known as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura or ITP. My body was attacking and destroying my platelets. I could have faced the removal of my spleen or platelet transfusions. A low-fat, plant-based diet changed everything for me. My goal is to help as many people as possible to make similar positive changes in their lives.
