Peters Township High School Student, Local Attorney and Nonprofits Honored for Service

Congrats to the honorees!

A Peters Township High School student, township attorney, and two local nonprofits were honored this past week by InCommunity Magazine.

The publication held its first-ever Community Awards for Service Excellence awards Friday night at Heinz Field. 

Christopher Laster—a junior at Peters Township High School—was honored as Youth Volunteer of the Year.

Laster has been a volunteer in Peters Township for many years and is currently working on a project to assist children in Tanzania, Africa, to attend secondary school.

In addition, Peters Township resident Rebecca A. Bowman, Esq., was honored as Volunteer of the Year.

Family Promise, a network of churches serving homeless families, was honored as the large non-profit of the year, while the Peters Township Food Pantry was honored as the small non-profit of the year.
