Santa Visits Peters Township

Everybody's favorite red-clad fellow stopped by Peters Township Public Library on Sunday night, an event which capped off a day of festive fun.

Santa Claus took some time out of his busy schedule to stop by Peters this weekend.

The big guy visited the Municipal Complex on Sunday night, for some talk time and photos with the kids.

But the party started long before Santa got into town.

The hosted its annual Frosty’s Funhouse on Sunday afternoon, giving kids the chance to come out and make festive holiday crafts with their parents.

Good times started at the Municipal Complex at 6 p.m., when carolers from , St. Ben’s Preschool and Fusion Youth Group sang a list of favorite Christmas tunes.

A few of the children who caroled were given the honor of flicking the switch to light the complex’s Christmas tree and other holiday lighting.

No sooner than the lights went on, Santa rolled up in a shiny red fire truck. He was followed into the library by swarms of children and their parents.

After the little ones got to visit with Santa, they were invited to the children’s section of the library for crafts and treats.

Rec Center supervisor Lisa Whittaker said that the day’s events were made possible by the volunteer efforts of local middle and high school students and by the donations of the following area businesses: , Canonsburg General Hospital, , , , , First Federal of Greene County, State Farm, Manor Care Peters Township, St. Clair Hospital, and .
