Six McMurray Boy Scouts Advance to Eagle
A major accomplishment for Troop 1393, six boys advance -- six of 36 since 1993.
It's always a significant event when a Boy Scout becomes an Eagle Scout. Fact is, only about three percent of boys in scouting ever advance to the organization's highest rank. It's a tough, hard road for a young man to reach the plateau of Eagle Scout, so it's no small wonder that the scouts, their parents and the leadership of Troop 1393 in McMurray are justifiably proud that six of their members have all advanced to Eagle Scout in the past four months. For Scoutmaster Eric Rauscher, it's an achievement based upon allowing the boys to have a sense of purpose. "We put out an atmosphere for boys to advance," said Rauscher.
