Delays Expected on I-79 at Bridgeville

Peters Township commuters, do you travel in this direction? There will be periodic lane closures in both directions of Interstate 79 near the Bridgeville exit on Tuesday. PennDOT announced the single-lane closures at varying times from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. while crews inspect the bridge near Exit 54. The bridge carries traffic over the Chartiers Creek between Bridgeville and South Fayette Township. PennDOT officials said the lane closures on both sides will not be done simultaneously so as to ease the traffic flow. However, PennDOT is urging motorists to use caution and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area.
