We had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our quest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in the country, we’ve seen everything from a life-size Santa to holiday lights so bright they could blind the neighbors. We loved showcasing everyone’s holiday spirit, but Deck the House isn’t over yet. We’re launching our annual Deck the House Contest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in America—the best “decked” house in the country—the one home so spectacularly decorated that everyone in town jokes your holiday decorations could rival Rockefeller Center’s. If this sounds like your house, upload a photo or video of your home to our contest page from Nov. 26 to Dec. 16. Here's the link: http://deckthehouse.patch.com/contest/peters. Only residents of Patch towns are eligible to enter. We’ll select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner. A number of Peters Township residents took advantage of the weekend's warm weather and put up their holiday light displays. But did any of you find broken light sets while you were getting into the Christmas spirit? You may want to know about the deal Home Depot has going on through Wednesday, Nov. 14. Customers can bring in their old working or non-working Christmas light strings to be recycled and receive coupons from $3 - $5 off the purchase of energy efficient seasonal LED string lights.
