The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a winter weather advisory for the Pittsburgh region, including Peters Township, from 11 p.m. Sunday until 2 p.m. Monday. A period of snow and freezing rain is expected overnight Sunday, before changing to all rain by Monday afternoon. The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Pittsburgh area Friday morning.
Expect freezing rain and ice accumulations of about a tenth of an inch on Friday. The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Peters Township that is in effect from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. The freezing rain is expected to begin between 6 and 8 a.m. and end between 1 and 3 p.m. The National Weather Service warns of hazardous travel conditions because of ice-covered roads.

A storm that could bring snow and freezing rain is expected to hit the area shortly after midnight Monday.
The Monday morning rush hour is shaping up to be troublesome with a storm that could bring snow and freezing rain to Peters. The National Weather service in Pittsburgh has issued a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday for most of western Pennsylvania. A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected overnight into Monday morning. Because very cold ground and snow pack, roads and sidewalks are expected to be icy. This storm comes just a few days after Peters was hit with about 5 inches of snow Friday and Saturday. The storm caused numerous traffic accidents and delays around the Pittsburgh area. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for a wintery mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow, going into effect at 7 p.m. and ending at 1 p.m. Saturday.
