Only PV PM kindergarten is cancelled.
Peters Township School District officials have cancelled afternoon kindergarten for Pleasant Valley Elementary students due to a power outage. Bower Hill Elementary kindergarten will go on as scheduled Wednesday afternoon. More than 1,300 West Penn Power customers are without power in Peters Township due to the morning's severe storm. Editor's Note: This article was updated at 1:10 p.m. A Peters Township School District spokeswoman announced that all Peters Township schools will be dismissed 45 minutes early Friday. Jan. 25. High school students will be dismissed at 1:40 p.m.; middle school students at 2:15 p.m.; and elementary students at 2:45 p.m. "Parents should be aware that we anticipate longer than normal bus rides and while specific arrival tiems may be hard to predict, students may be arriving home earlier than normal. Staff members will remain at the schools with car riders until all students are picked up," according to a news release. Sweaty palms. Racing heart. Nervous thoughts. Separation anxiety. Fear of the school bus. Insecurity about new rules and new authority figures. Uncontrollable sobbing.
